American Steam - Steam in the 50s America

Description:

American Steam - Steam in the 50s

This is one in a series of documentaries on the history and lore of the steam-powered locomotive. This episode looks at steam trains in their heyday, with plenty of footage of surviving machines of the era.

Like a well-traveled hobo, this video covers 14 different trains and their journeys across America. Part of the American Steam collection, this 60-minute color documentary is right on track for historians and adventurers alike. Distributed by the Madacy Entertainment Group, the tape highlights some of the very best rail destinations of the '50s. Included in this segment are some of the more notable crossings of railroads such as the Baltimore and Ohio, the New York Central, and the Ohio.
