Meeting Information

Group in meetingMeetings are normally held at 2 pm on the third Sunday of the Month. Meeting locations will vary and be announced as soon as available. (No meeting in August.) Visitors and guests are always welcome! Regular meetings consist of a business meeting followed by a clinic or seminar. We work hard to provide you with the best presentations available, often the same clinics found at national and regional conventions. You can miss a lot if you miss a meeting! Also available at our meetings are our video library, a "show-and-tell" table, and, generally, a contest. Availability of these items will vary when a meeting is held at a remote location or special event.
Of course, the most important part of the meetings is the opportunity to get together with your fellow modelers. If you have a question or problem, there's an excellent chance that someone in the group will have the solution! In fact, you'll probably get several solutions to chose from!

July Meeting

Many of you remember Don Santel. Don was a founding member of Division 3 and was widely known for his Ohio, Michigan and South Shore HO layout. Don passed away more years ago than I can remember. His sons Dick and John kept the railroad operating for awhile after Don passed away. It seems that in addition to being an accomplished modeler, Don was also an active rail fan and photographer.

Gary Rolih, of Cincinnati, has made digital scans of Don's local medium-format photography. His pictures are from the 1950's with late steam and early diesel. In addition to the Dayton area, also included are Tate's Point, Cold Springs, Marion, Washington Court House, Midland City, Portsmouth, and Winton Place. Gary did a presentation featuring these photo scans at the May Dayton Railway Historical Society meeting. Our diligent program chairperson, Mike Mereness, has been able to secure Gary for our July meeting. This will be one program that you don't want to miss.

This month's contest will be Non-Revenue cars. Participation was down in June. Let's kick it up in July!

See YOU at the next meeting!
